A Day in the Lab
A sort of blog with snippets of lab life during my PhD. Maybe some of this information will prove useful, but I hope it serves more of a view into what you end up dealing with in experimental physics.
The quote "physics is what physicists do" gets thrown around a lot with multiple people being credited, sometimes with the added qualifier "in their spare time", or "late at night". Given that, a lot of unexpected things end up being physics, in my case, gardening or dishes even.
A bit closer to the lab, physics ends up being a lot of electrical engineering, a lot of deciphering hyroglyphs in old manuals, and a whole lot of staring at code wondering what it's supposed to be doing, what it's actually doing, who you are as a person, wether you should even be here and whose beautiful house this is.
